Chemilil Sugar SHUTS DOWN factory for two months


Wednesday, the 28th of November 2012 - The Kenyan DAILY POST has learnt that the Chemilil Sugar Company has today shut down operations at its factory until next year so that it can conduct some upgrades.


The process of conducting the upgrades on its equipment is expected to be complete in the next two months.


Upon completion the upgrades on factory are expected to increase productionby an estimated 200%


Chemilil is the main competitor of giant sugar producer Mumias Sugar. The two firms have in recent months been locked in protracted court battles over ‘sugar stealing’.
